Terms of service
The agreement between you and us. Short, because the service is small and we would rather you actually read it.
Last updated 26 October 2026
The part that matters most. tryat is not a doctor and the coach is not a medical professional. It reads numbers from your watch and writes an opinion about your training. If you feel unwell, if something hurts, or if a number frightens you, speak to a doctor and do not wait for the app to agree.
1. Who you are agreeing with
Join Animation Studio AS, organisation number 824 988 692, of Fjellhamarveien 52, 1472 Fjellhamar, Norway. In this document “we” means that company and “you” means the person using the service.
By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
2. What tryat is
tryat reads the health and training data your Garmin account already holds, puts it in one place, and uses a language model to write a daily reading of it and answer questions about it. That reading is an opinion generated by software from the numbers available to it.
3. What tryat is not
- It is not medical advice. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or prevents anything. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach.
- It can be wrong. Language models produce confident text whether or not the reasoning behind it is sound, and the data underneath can be missing or mistaken, for instance on a night you did not wear your watch. Treat the coach as a well-informed second opinion, not an instruction.
- You decide. Every training decision, and every consequence of it, is yours. Training carries risk of injury. Take responsibility for your own body.
If you have a heart condition, are pregnant, are recovering from injury or illness, or have any reason to think exercise carries particular risk for you, talk to a doctor before acting on anything this app says.
4. Your account
- One account per person, and it is yours alone. Do not share the password.
- Give us a real email address. You confirm it with a one-time code when you sign up, and it is how we would reach you about your account.
- We recommend switching on two-factor sign-in in Settings. Keep your backup codes safe: we cannot recover an account whose second factor is lost.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 16.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it.
5. Connecting Garmin
Connecting Garmin with your own API key authorises us to read your data from Garmin. You can disconnect at any time from Settings, which removes the stored key.
You confirm that the Garmin account is yours, or that you have the account holder’s permission to connect it. The key you paste gives tryat read access to that account’s data, so treat it like a password. What you connect to tryat is your choice and your responsibility. If tryat later lets you connect other sources of your own, the same applies to each of them.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Garmin. Using tryat with Garmin is between you and Garmin, under its terms. If Garmin changes how its service works, or blocks access, parts of tryat may stop working and there may be nothing we can do about it.
6. Fair use
Do not:
- Connect an account that is not yours, or upload another person’s health data.
- Try to break, overload or work around the security of the service.
- Scrape it, resell it, or pass the output off as professional medical or coaching advice.
- Use it for anything illegal.
We can suspend or close an account that does any of these.
7. This is a beta
tryat is early software offered free of charge while it is being built. That means:
- It may be unavailable, and we do not promise any level of uptime.
- Features may change or disappear.
- Bugs are likely. Data loss is possible. Keep Garmin as your record of truth.
- If we ever start charging, we will tell you before it applies to you, and you can walk away.
8. Your data
Your health and training data is yours. We claim no ownership of it. What we do with it is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement. You can download all of it or delete all of it from Settings at any time.
The service itself, including its design, code and the way the coach is written, remains ours.
9. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent Norwegian law allows, we are not liable for injury, lost training, missed goals, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using tryat or relying on what the coach says.
Nothing here limits liability we cannot lawfully limit, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your rights under Norwegian consumer law are unaffected by anything in this document.
10. Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings, with no notice and no reason. We can close an account that breaks section 6, and we can discontinue the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data first.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using tryat afterwards means you accept the new version.
12. Law
Norwegian law governs this agreement. Disputes go to the Norwegian courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country.
